Library Director Liz Thornton told the Bentley Memorial Library Board on July 8 that the library's budget has been frozen after a failed budget referendum in May. Thornton said all invoices for the fiscal year that ended June 30 had been submitted and that the library is awaiting remaining funds from a Hartford Foundation grant.
Thornton also reported operational details including a smooth transition to a fine-free policy and that 868 items were shipped through deliverIT CT in the April'June quarterly reporting period. The board did not take further action on the budget at the meeting; routine business continued and other operational items were discussed.
