Safety officer and chief report near‑completion of SOG rewrite; chair's term, job description and membership terms slated for April discussion

Safety Officer Peter Morra told the commission the committee rewriting the Bolton Fire Department’s Standard Operating Guidelines meets weekly and is making very good progress, with completion approaching.
Chief Bruce Dixon said the SOG work is ongoing and that the committee hopes to finish the rewrite by summer. In old business, Commissioner Christopher A. Moquin asked about the process for finalizing the Fire Chief’s job description; Chief Dixon said the committee is still working on it and hopes to complete it before the May meeting.
Chief Dixon also reported that James Rupert applied for a grant to fund a study on the future of the fire service designed to avoid increasing department budgets. Board clerk Janet K. Assard was asked to research term expiration dates for members; the commission reviewed listed expiration dates for Robert Langton (July 1, 2024), Elizabeth M. Malone (July 1, 2026), John J. Morianos Jr. (July 1, 2023), Christopher A. Moquin (July 1, 2027) and Daniel Tyler Moquin (July 1, 2026). Chair Morianos's term will be discussed at the April meeting.
The commission approved routine minutes and adjourned the meeting at 7:22 P.M.
