Board approves multiple coaching and staff hires, rehiring of high‑school science teacher

The board approved a block of personnel actions including the rehiring of Rob Truax as high‑school science teacher, multiple coaching hires across middle- and high‑school sports and summer custodial hires.
Activity director Jamie presented the personnel recommendations and noted numerous hires and volunteers needed for the upcoming year, including middle-school and high-school coaches, assistants and a volunteer for middle‑school open gym. Each hiring recommendation was moved, seconded and put to a voice vote; most motions carried, and on several items a trustee vocalized opposition during the vote.
Trustees also approved summer custodial hires (Corey, Kista, Mandy, Lynn and Sarah) and authorized the hiring of route drivers for the Pleasant Valley and Carter routes, with final contract paperwork to be completed when drivers finish required training.
The board approved a motion to void year‑old warrants and approved SBAS warrants for checks more than a year old. Business staff said year‑end accounting shows roughly 4% of the general fund remains unexpended and that building reserves and levied amounts are included in the presented figures.
The board recorded the personnel items and asked staff to return with any remaining contract paperwork at the next meeting.
