At its Jan. 13, 2026 meeting the Fremont City Council approved a consent agenda covering claims, minutes, treasury reports and a slate of resolutions and agreements affecting public works, public safety and downtown revitalization. The motion to approve the listed consent items was made by Councilmember Horner and seconded by Councilmember Ganem; the recorded vote was 7-0 with Councilmember Von Behren absent.
Key items approved on the consent agenda and by separate motion included: Resolution 2026-001 reappointing members to Business Improvement District #1 (two-year terms); agreements with Creighton University and Metropolitan Community College for paramedic student internships; a new airport hangar lease with Brad Krumel; a subaward-related security agreement under Contract No. 24-11-317 with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development; a memorandum of understanding with Front Line Mobile Health; and a Chem Treat LDW chemical supply contract noted at approximately $271,489 per year for three years.
Council also approved a three-year contract with CityLogix for street-scan services at $39,123 per year; awarded a feedwater heater retube contract to Brimhall Industrial for $382,802.59 plus taxes and freight; authorized a CPI Telecom support agreement for $3,446.25; authorized purchase of a Chevy Tahoe police patrol vehicle for $55,150; and awarded the WWTP boiler replacement to Grunwald Mechanical for $147,098. The council adopted the 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan and awarded downtown revitalization CDBG funding for 307 N Main St; it also approved 2026-27 artist contracts for the Fremont Sculpture Walk at $1,000 per sculpture and a services agreement with MainStreet of Fremont at $10,000 per year.
Separate procedural items included receiving the Animal Control report (motion by Jensen, seconded by Horner) and approval of minutes and claims. All motions recorded in the minutes passed on recorded votes of seven in favor and none opposed. The meeting adjourned at 7:27 PM.
