The Fremont Parks & Recreation Board on Jan. 5 approved a 50% reduction to a facility‑waiver fee for Fremont and Bergan Schools to hold a post‑prom event in April 2026 and granted a seasonal park‑use permit to the Fremont Area Car Club.
Connie Giese moved to suspend reading the Oct. 6, 2025 minutes; Aaron Paden seconded and the board carried the motion. Nick Hansen, director of Parks & Recreation, presented the schools’ request for Christensen Arena, the kitchen and meeting room and said the board recommended a 50% waiver reduction for the post‑prom event; the board voted to approve the reduction. Hansen also summarized a Fremont Area Car Club application to use Masonic Park West on Thursdays from May through September, 6–8 p.m.; Hansen noted the club will provide insurance and the permit was approved.
The board recorded no formal objections during the discussion. The meeting closed with an adjournment motion by Aaron Paden, seconded by Connie Giese, and the board adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The next Parks & Recreation Board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the West Room of the City Auditorium.
