Angela Stuhr, Jackson County Assessor, told the Board of Commissioners at the May 14 staff meeting that the Motorcycle Riders Association has applied for a real and personal property tax exemption for nonprofit-owned property used for public park or recreation purposes. She estimated the total tax impact for the upcoming 10-year period would be approximately $29,503.
Senior Deputy County Administrator Joel Benton told the Board that similar exemption applications have been approved in the past and described the submission as Submission No. 1. Commissioners expressed support for placing a Board Order to consider the exemption on the Board’s May 20 regular meeting agenda.
No formal Board vote to approve the exemption was recorded at the staff meeting; the item was supported for inclusion on the May 20 agenda for formal consideration and action.
