"Hot off the presses, as of 6:07 this morning . . . 100% of even third graders pass," a board member said during administrative comments, crediting teachers and intervention staff for the result.
District leaders said the outcome followed a series of incremental interventions: additional in‑class support, make‑up assessments provided on an accelerated schedule, and direct, targeted work from intervention staff. The board noted that one student received assessments last Thursday and again on Monday to allow participation in a planned family trip, and that staff made arrangements to provide that second test. Administrators called the result a team achievement and singled out early‑grade teachers and interventionists for praise.
Superintendent Dr. Brooks and other administrators also referenced a recent commendation from Representative Als recognizing the district's IRA (district assessment) scores. Board members said last year's pass rate was above 95% and that this year's result is the first time the district reached 100% in third grade.
Board members and staff said the news will be shared with families and will be included in upcoming communications and at the district's July meeting. Administrators also used the meeting to remind families of the district's August 10 back‑to‑school open house and ongoing hiring to support student needs, including planned hires for a structured social‑emotional classroom in the fall.
