Hull Conservation Commission: continuations, determinations and certificates approved; meeting sets schedule

At its June 9 meeting the Hull Conservation Commission continued three hearings, issued a negative determination and two certificates of compliance, accepted its annual report and adopted a July–December meeting schedule. The body also discussed bonding authority for enforcement.
The Hull Conservation Commission handled several routine procedural matters at its June 9, 2026 meeting held remotely via Zoom.
Continuations and hearings: The commission agreed to continue the hearing for 48 Western A (SE35-931) to the June 23 meeting and to continue the town’s North Nantascet Beach Operations & Maintenance plan (SE35-924) to June 23. The hearing for 103 Rockaway Avenue (SE35-1921) was continued at the applicant’s request to July 14.
Determinations and certificates: For 648 (Nantascadav), the commission heard a presentation of a proposed permeable paver patio and replacement walkway and — after site visits and no public objection — voted to issue a negative determination of applicability. The commission issued a certificate of compliance for 34 Gunrock (SE35-1749) following staff review of as-built changes to an addition with garage below. Commissioners also voted to issue a certificate of compliance for 114A Atlantic Avenue (SE35-1689), a minor-as-built matter (generator pad) noted by staff.
Other business: The commission voted to accept its annual report as amended and approved the proposed July–December 2026 meeting schedule (second and fourth Tuesdays in most months). In new business commissioners discussed the option of requiring bonds for larger projects to ensure remediation funds for non-compliance; staff will research how other communities handle bonding and whether bylaw changes are needed.
