The Stevensville Town Council on June 4 moved to reappoint Judge Moren O'Connor as the Stevensville City Court judge. Judge O'Connor introduced herself, said she has served as Stevensville City Court Judge for about 10 years and is a licensed attorney in Montana, and offered to answer questions about her qualifications.
Council Member Talon Ross moved to reappoint Judge O'Connor and Council Member Smith seconded; the motion carried on the council's recorded vote. The judge and mayor agreed on a swearing-in ceremony next Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
Following the reappointment, the council considered Resolution 510A to set the judge's fee. Council confirmed the monthly fee is $3,000 and approved the resolution on a roll-call vote. The mayor thanked the judge and the council for the prompt processing of the appointment and related administrative steps.
No opposing motions or amendments to the judge's reappointment or fee were recorded.
