Librarian Kate Thomas updated the Selectboard on upcoming library activity in June, including the Second Annual Fashion Show on June 13 and a summer reading program starting June 22. Thomas said she attended an NH Library Trustees meeting where the Assistant State Librarian emphasized the importance of library statistics; she relayed an illustrative statistic that the number of children under 6 who attended New Hampshire library programs would fill Gillette Stadium (capacity 68,568) at least four times over.
On patriotic and community events, H. Steadman said the town will hold a Flag Disposal ceremony at the Central Fire Station on June 11 at 6 p.m. and outlined July 4 celebrations planned for June 27 at the field behind the Town Office. The Hampstead Civic Club donated $2,000 to add 250th fireworks to the day’s program; events will run from around noon with fireworks concluding the day.
The board noted the library’s schedule and the civic donation; no votes were recorded on these items.
