Audubon to consolidate eight polling districts to Francis J. Ward Recreation and Community Center for 2026 elections

Danielle Ingves, the borough’s newly appointed administrator and municipal clerk, told commissioners that the Board of Elections has approved consolidation of Audubon’s eight polling districts to a single polling place at the Francis J. Ward Recreation and Community Center, 602 Hampshire Ave. The change will take effect for the June 2, 2026 primary. Ingves said the borough will begin public advertising of the consolidation in advance of the primary; the general election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026.

"All polling districts will be located at the Francis J. Ward Recreation and Community Center at 602 Hampshire Ave starting with the 2026 Primary Election," Ingves said.

Commissioner Andrea Wendell used her remarks to urge residents to complete a Green Acres survey the borough circulated; she said survey results will guide decisions about accessible equipment planned for Audubon Family Park and invited public participation at a community meeting on Jan. 20 at 6:00 p.m. "This survey is critically important as we move forward with the Green Acres application process to bring more inclusive and accessible equipment to Audubon Family Park," Wendell said.

Representatives of Sustainable Audubon said they are organizing a garden-tour fundraiser in June and continuing a PSE&G energy-efficiency program that offers $20 gift cards for residents who complete a whole-home energy assessment. Jeanne Mugler of Sustainable Audubon said 15 residents remain on a waiting list for free trees and asked the administrator to confirm remaining grant funds for the program.

Ingves said she would follow up with Sustainable Audubon on available grant funds and will advertise the polling-location change across borough channels. The consolidation changes where residents will vote beginning with the primary; officials recommended voters verify their assigned district and polling place in advance of June 2.
