City of Temple Terrace postpones Code Enforcement Board cases to July 8; seeks applicants for boards

Ernie Mueller, the City of Temple Terrace city attorney, said the Municipal Code Enforcement Board could not meet on the scheduled date because it lacked a quorum. "The board cannot meet tonight because we could not get a quorum," Mueller said, adding that "the cases scheduled for tonight will be held at the July Code Enforcement Board meeting that happens on July 8th at 6:00."
Mueller urged residents who are interested in serving to contact the City Clerk and listed several openings: an alternate position on the Code Enforcement Board and an alternate position on the Board of Adjustment, which he described as the citizen panel that hears variance applications and grants relief from certain land development requirements. "If any of these open positions interest you, please contact the City Clerk and let them know your interest," he said.
He also identified openings on the Riverwatch Task Force (one regular member opening and two alternate positions) and a regular-member opening on the School Support Committee. Mueller named several Hillsborough County advisory and appeals panels with vacancies, including the Livable Roadways Committee, the Hillsborough County Electrical Board of Adjustment Appeals and Examiners, the Mechanical Board of Adjustment Appeals and Examiners, and the Hillsborough River Technical Advisory Council.
The city attorney apologized for the inconvenience to those signed up to appear and repeated that the cases will be heard at the next Code Enforcement Board meeting on July 8 at 6:00 p.m. Residents seeking to apply for any of the listed openings should contact the City Clerk for details and application instructions.
