Mr. Chris Ladwick introduced four athlete state medalists — Nathan Cosmiki (golf), Michael Obamiller (hurdles), Reese Jones (long jump) and Silia McCoy (hurdles) — and summarized their finishes, school records and post‑graduation plans (for example, Nathan plans to study architecture at UNL and Silia will continue track at the University of Utah). Coaches joined students for photos.
Mr. Alex Kenitz, a SkillsUSA adviser, then recognized students who competed at the national conference in Atlanta, reporting placements including seventh in a career-technical education event, 11th in CNC lathe programming and mid‑rank placements in additive manufacturing and EMT practical competitions. He listed graduates’ postsecondary plans (engineering at UNL, respiratory health study at Southeast Community College, CNC machining at CCC Hastings) and invited photos.
Dr. Carrie Kohler presented the Pathback scholarship recipients (Adrie Barren and Haley Luwendowski) and Educator Fellowship graduates (Lynette Gibson and Ruth Cruz), noting the programs’ role in supporting teacher pipelines and that recipients have plans to return to the district.
Board members applauded the students; winners and honorees will be celebrated at upcoming district and foundation events.
