Town manager reports development delays, private-road closure and upcoming events

During the Nov. 6 meeting Manager Gus Lundberg and Parks & Rec staff provided several operational and development updates affecting local services and properties.
Manager Lundberg said the Tractor Supply development requested a 30-day extension on its closing because the developer must complete ADOT highway-access permitting. He also reported efforts with the Town of Snowflake to extend sewer service for a 27-acre town parcel and said Circle K expects paving in early December with an opening soon after.
Lundberg also said property owners are fencing Taylor Farms Drive because it is a private road rather than a public easement; he said the road is not the sole legal access to properties and owners cited liability concerns. The town will not accept the road as-is because it does not meet town standards and will work with owners on possible solutions.
Parks & Rec Sarah Ramsay told council the municipal pool will close Nov. 8 for about two weeks for maintenance and acid washing with a planned reopening on Nov. 22. Ramsay also confirmed live-nativity performances Dec. 8 and 10 and announced the Turkey Trot 5K on Nov. 27. The council and staff praised recent community events, including a well-attended trunk-or-treat.
No formal council action was taken on these updates at the Nov. 6 meeting.
