Cole told the council the museum possesses a drum the organization dated at nearly 200 years old that is used in Fourth of July observances and an anvil historically used by residents; he recounted family and community traditions tied to those items. The museum’s Hall of Fame, established in 1959, inducts one or two individuals or couples annually; medallions used for inductees are now also being sold for $5 each and include a magnet backing.
Museum volunteers and two missionaries have assisted in gathering family histories for a planned inductee history book, which will be organized alphabetically; staff said a disclaimer will note that while inductees are honored, not every notable person is included. Cole also discussed ideas for how the town might mark the 250th anniversary in 2026, noting local traditions such as the rodeo arena and community breakfast events.
Council took no formal action on the museum presentation.
