Taylor accepts Gurr subdivision water improvements; adds about $236,000 to system value

The Taylor Town Council on Nov. 6 approved Resolution R2025-09 to accept developer-installed public-utility improvements in the Gurr subdivision after staff inspection and approval.
Staff reported the developer installed a 6-inch looped water main and that the town inspected the work; valves and covers will need adjustments during road work, and concrete encasement will be required when the road is built. The developer opted to have the town hold the plat until the water line was completed; staff inspected and approved the installation.
Manager Gus Lundberg said an engineer will provide the approximate value of the water line for bookkeeping; staff reported the addition will increase the water system’s recorded value by about $236,000. Council Member Sherry Cosper Duke moved to accept the resolution; Kris Neff seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Council accepted maintenance responsibility for the installed main. The town’s next steps include final engineering valuation and recording the asset on the town’s books.
