During public comment at the Glassport Borough Council meeting on July 16, residents raised questions about rental-license fees, garbage billing and neighborhood safety.
Michael Thomas addressed documents he had submitted the prior month about Residential Rental License fees and asked whether the garbage bill could be combined with property taxes. Solicitor Falco Muscante told Thomas that the borough’s fees are “in line” with current policy as recorded in the minutes; Council President Anthony Colecchi said the garbage-bill issue would be taken under advisement.
Kathy Emerick reported concerns about children left unattended on the 400 block of Ohio Avenue and thanked the mayor and police for looking into the matter. Council President Colecchi advised residents to call the police when they observe unattended children or other safety concerns.
What’s next
Council recorded the comments and did not take formal action during the meeting; the solicitor’s affirmation of fee alignment and council’s decision to consider the garbage-bill question will guide any follow-up.
