Summary
Staff will ask the board to approve a Denali Water Solutions contract to dewater and remove about 800,000 gallons of accumulated material from treatment lagoons at an estimated cost of $65,625, funded from the board-approved 441 water bond account; staff called the item a placeholder while final contract language is prepared.

Staff told the board they will seek authorization to award a contract to Denali Water Solutions LLC to clean out existing lagoons at the city's water treatment plant.
A Denali representative, Joe, explained the proposed work would include mobilization, mixing, required testing, hauling and land application of roughly 800,000 gallons of accumulated material under the city's existing term contract. "The estimated total of this contract is $65,625 with funding coming from the board approved 441 water bond account," Joe said, and staff recommended awarding the contract to allow dewatering and decommissioning work to proceed while an excavation contractor is on site.
Bill Burl and other staff said the item was added late to the agenda as a placeholder and that final contract documents will be provided in the board packet if ready; if agreements cannot be concluded in time, the item may be removed from next Tuesday's agenda.
