Tift County previews appointments to boards; commissioner seeks health department sign replacement

County Clerk Miriam Jordan told the Tift County Board of Commissioners on May 5 that two appointments will appear on the May 11 regular agenda.
Jury-listed: The term for Zoning Board of Appeals member Robert Todd Green has expired and he is willing to serve another term; there is one application on file for a vacant seat from Jennifer Culpepper. Jordan reported Patricia Robinson’s term on the Board of Elections will expire in June 2026, Robinson is willing to serve again, and the Board of Elections provided a letter supporting her reappointment.
During commissioner comments, Commissioner Melissa Hughes asked that the sign at the Health Department be replaced after receiving a complaint about its condition, requested a status update on demolition of abandoned houses, and thanked Code Enforcement for its work.
Both the Zoning Board appointment(s) and the Board of Elections reappointment were placed on the regular agenda for May 11 for formal consideration.
