Tift County fills board vacancies, reappoints incumbents

The Tift County Board of Commissioners made three appointments during its May 11 meeting.
Commissioner Tyler Riddle nominated Robert Todd Green for reappointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals after County Manager Jim Carter said Mr. Green was willing to serve another five-year term. With no other nominations, Riddle moved to reappoint Green; Commissioner Greg Wood seconded and the motion carried 6-0.
Chairman Tony McBrayer then opened nominations for the vacant Zoning Board seat. Commissioner Paul Webb nominated Jennifer Culpepper; there were no further nominations, and Culpepper was appointed by a 6-0 vote after a motion by Webb and a second from Commissioner Melissa Hughes.
County Manager Carter also relayed a request from the Tift County Board of Elections and Registration to reappoint Patricia Robinson to a four-year term. Commissioner Melissa Hughes nominated Robinson; Commissioner Donnie Hester seconded and the motion carried 6-0.
