The Clearview Board of Education approved several personnel contracts, accepted a staff resignation, authorized two out-of-state trips for Superintendent Dr. Jerome Davis and scheduled a work session on supplementals and media relations during its July 30, 2025 special meeting.
The board voted to approve one-year limited teaching contracts for Allycia Wild and Kai Falcone as math teachers at Clearview High School, both effective Aug. 14, 2025. The board also appointed Jacob Morehouse as athletic director under a two-year administrative contract (Aug. 1, 2025–July 31, 2027) on a 220-day calendar; the record notes he will be paid at his per-diem rate for July 30–31, 2025. The personnel motion, moved by Mr. Koziura and seconded by Miss. Echko, passed with yeas from all members present.
The same resolution recorded a supplemental assignment for Cody Kaya as varsity head football coach (as listed in the minutes) and accepted the resignation of Michael Shamblin, a computer technology teacher for Clearview Local Schools, effective July 20, 2025.
Mrs. Sutton and Mrs. Love moved and seconded separate motions to hire Heather Long as a nurse aide/health aide at Clearview High School (Step 10 on the classified aide schedule, 7.5 hours per day, 190-day calendar), effective Aug. 14, 2025; the motion passed.
The board authorized Dr. Jerome Davis to attend two leadership events: the National Superintendents Forum in Phoenix, Sept. 13–16, 2025 (expenses to be paid by RTM Business Group), and the BASA Annual Leadership Development Program in Panama, Oct. 9–13, 2025 (to be paid by EF Tours). Both travel approvals passed on recorded motions.
Miss. Love moved and Mrs. Sutton seconded that the board enter a work session to discuss two topics: supplementals and media relations. The motion passed, and the minutes record the board entering that work session topic.
Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(g)(1), the board voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters involving appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, demotion or compensation of employees; Superintendent Dr. Jerome Davis and Treasurer Mary Ann Nowak attended. The board noted no action would be taken as a result of the executive session and later exited without recorded action.
Mr. Post moved and Mrs. Love seconded to adjourn the special meeting at 11:30 a.m.; the minutes note that Mr. Koziura left the meeting early. The meeting record was signed by Mary Ann Nowak, Treasurer/CFO, and Michael Post, president of the Clearview Board of Education.
