The board also approved the appointment of Jacob Morehouse as Athletic Director on a two‑year assignment (BA step "1" on the administrative salary schedule, 220‑day calendar, effective Aug. 1, 2025–July 31, 2027); the board noted Morehouse would be paid at his per diem rate for July 30–31, 2025.
The board accepted the resignation of Michael Shamblin, Computer Technology Teacher, effective July 20, 2025, and recorded the resignation of Cody Kaya as Varsity Head Football Coach.
In classified staffing, the board approved Heather Long as a nurse aide/health aide at Clearview High School (Step 10 on the classified aide salary schedule, 7.5 hours per day, 190‑calendar days), effective Aug. 14, 2025.
The board also approved two travel authorizations for Superintendent Dr. Jerome Davis. Resolution 2025‑114 authorized Davis to attend the National Superintendents Forum in Phoenix, Arizona, Sept. 13–16, 2025, with expenses to be paid by RTM Business Group. Resolution 2025‑115 authorized Davis to attend the BASA Annual Leadership Development Program in Panama, Oct. 9–13, 2025, with costs to be paid by EF Tours. Both motions passed by recorded unanimous votes.
Later in the meeting the board voted to enter a work session to discuss supplementals and media relations. The meeting record shows the board then entered executive session pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(g)(1) to consider matters related to appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, demotion or compensation of employees; the superintendent and treasurer attended, and no formal action was taken during executive session. The board exited executive session and adjourned at approximately 11:30 a.m.; the record notes that Mr. Koziura left early.
The meeting record was submitted by Mary Ann Nowak, Treasurer/CFO, and indicates unanimous approval on motions where listed (each resolution in the record is marked "Motion Passed" and lists voting members).
