Tift County commissioners approved a one-year renewal of the county's lawn-care services agreement with Service Living LLC during the May 11 meeting, adding a 3% increase to the contract price.
County Manager Jim Carter told the board that Service Living LLC has provided lawn care to several county properties since July 2025 and that the existing agreement expires June 30, 2026. The company representative told Public Works Director Jason Jordan they needed a price increase because of higher fuel costs. The written agreement does not include an escalation clause; staff recommended a 3% increase, which the county said the company accepted. The proposed increase raises the annual contract amount to $120,400, an annual rise of $3,506.80.
The item had been moved from the Consent Agenda to the Regular Agenda for discussion. Commissioner Melissa Hughes moved to approve the one-year renewal with the 3% increase; Commissioner Paul Webb seconded. The minutes record the motion as carried 3-0. The agreement may be renewed annually for up to five additional one-year terms under the contract terms presented to the board.
