Oak Park MAC unanimously approves several items including a tree-removal project and a permit renewal

The MAC voted unanimously on Sept. 26 to recognize a local memorial day, renew an oversized-vehicle permit at 236 St. Thomas Drive, recommend CHP handle oversized-vehicle enforcement, and endorse a CSA #4 project to remove 32 trees and plant 20 crape myrtles (county clarified cost as $27,900).
At its Sept. 26 meeting the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council took several unanimous actions.
The MAC voted to recognize a commemorative "Luc Boddard" day and to present a resolution to the family after Nikki De La Torre described the honoree. (The meeting record contains inconsistent spellings: earlier references use "Luc Boddard" while the attached proclamation text spells the name as "Luc Bodden".)
The council approved renewal of an oversized-vehicle exception permit for a property at 236 St. Thomas Drive by a 4-0 vote on a motion by Chair Alon Glickstein, seconded by Chris Chapman. The MAC also unanimously recommended that enforcement of the oversized-vehicle ordinance continue to be handled by the California Highway Patrol and remain complaint-driven.
On a separate motion, the MAC recommended approval of a CSA #4 landscape project to remove 32 trees and replace them with 20 crape myrtles. County Public Works provided a cost clarification during the meeting: $22,700 for tree removal, $2,700 for the new crape myrtles, and $2,500 for miscellaneous plants (a total of $27,900). The $32,500 figure discussed earlier included $4,600 already spent on July work.
An agenda item proposing roadway median landscape-protection requirements in the Oak Park Area Plan was described by the Chair as effectively moot and was tabled. The MAC also asked staff to prepare a draft letter for future consideration that would urge Park and School Districts to deed-restrict or place conservation easements on vacant open-space properties.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM; the MAC scheduled its next meeting for Oct. 24 at 7 P.M.
