The council took time during its June 9 meeting to introduce new city personnel and recognize internal promotions.
City Manager Matt Downing introduced Haley Hicks as the city's new utilities manager and summarized her background in water and wastewater operations. "Haley was born and raised in St. Louis Bispo and is proud to continue serving the central coast community," Downing said; Hicks thanked the city and said she looked forward to building on the department's legacy.
The Police Department presented promotions and administered oaths of office for several officers. Chief Dave Culver described the responsibilities of promoted ranks and highlighted that promoted officers will serve as field supervisors and carry operational leadership responsibilities. Badge pinning ceremonies included family members in the chamber.
These personnel items were presented as recognitions and informational announcements; no council vote was required.
