Homewood swears in assistant public works director and planning chair; Citizens Academy graduates honored

The Village Board administered oaths and recognized local civic engagement at its June 9 meeting.
Sean Faulkner was introduced as the village’s new assistant director of public works and sworn into office. According to remarks at the meeting, Faulkner joins Homewood after serving as a natural resources and facilities supervisor for the Village of Orland Park for just over two years and following more than 29 years of service to the Village of South Holland in a range of municipal operations and infrastructure roles.
The board also moved to appoint Seth France as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission; the motion carried and France was sworn in and repeated the oath to support the constitutions and municipal ordinances and to faithfully perform the duties of chairperson.
Staff presented graduates of the Citizens Academy—32 participants this spring—and several graduates were called forward to receive certificates and join a group photo. Board members congratulated the graduates and encouraged continued civic participation.
The mayor administered the oaths for the two appointees; personnel onboarding and planning commission leadership changes will proceed under normal administrative procedures.
