The Village of Homewood Board unanimously approved a multi-item consent agenda at its June 9 meeting, advancing traffic, property and redevelopment actions.
The agenda included ordinance M-24-29 to remove existing yield signs and install stop signs on the northbound and southbound approaches of Howe Avenue at Cedar Road; authorization to pursue purchase of a 15,600-square-foot office at 17924 Halsted Street under a term sheet to be finalized with the Cook County Land Bank Authority; and ordinance M-24-30 granting a special-use permit for a drive‑thru facility for a proposed Seven Brew restaurant at 17855 Halsted Street. The board also approved M-24-31, a variance to reduce the required width of the parking-area perimeter landscape zone to accommodate the Seven Brew site, and M-24-32, a second amendment to a redevelopment agreement between Ravis Restaurant, Anguiano Guido Properties LLC and the village for property on Dixie Highway (18134–18138).
Additional consent items included ordinance M-24-33 authorizing the village manager to sell, donate or dispose of property and materials as needed to begin renovation of the Village Auditorium at 2010 Chestnut Road, and M-24-34 authorizing the village president to sign an amendment to the agreement with New Singular Wireless for continued leasing of space on the village-owned water tower at 2536 Hickory Road for telecommunications equipment.
A member of the public asked for clarification about the Seven Brew drive‑thru variance; a village representative explained the site is narrow—about 80 feet wide—with a large parkway between the street and property (roughly 25 feet), and said the minor landscape reduction was intended to help fit the drive‑thru and improve site circulation. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the variance as appropriate.
Trustees moved and seconded the consent agenda; the roll call vote recorded all present voting aye. The items will return for any required permitting or formal agreements and next steps specified by staff.
