Henry County commissioners approve routine claims, buy two trucks and authorize dispatch equipment

The Henry County Board of Commissioners met May 27 in the sheriff’s office conference room and approved a series of routine administrative actions, including minutes, claims and payroll.
Commissioner Susan Huhn moved to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2026 meeting and the May 20, 2026 special meeting; Commissioner Joe Wiley seconded and the motion carried, 3-0. The board likewise approved presented claims and payroll by the same vote count. The Clerk’s monthly report for April 2026 was approved following a motion by Commissioner Joe Wiley and second by Commissioner Susan Huhn.
Steve Dellinger, serving as board president, read Indiana Department of Environmental Management reports for Speedway LLC/7‑Eleven and for Rumpke into the record; the board took no further action on those reports during the meeting.
Braden Shore of the Henry County Highway Department presented tandem truck bids from Selking International and Stoops Freightliner. The board voted to accept the Selking International bid, then approved a separate motion to purchase two trucks and to authorize stainless‑steel bed upfits for those vehicles. All three motions were moved and seconded by Commissioners Susan Huhn and Joe Wiley and carried, 3-0.
The board approved a CDW‑G quote of $3,082.46 for two network switches for the Spillman server at Henry County Dispatch (motion by Joe Wiley, seconded by Susan Huhn; carried 3-0). The board also accepted a Scale Node quote for dispatch equipment in the amount of $42,346.00; the acceptance was recorded as contingent in the minutes (motion by Joe Wiley, seconded by Susan Huhn; carried 3-0).
An agreement to appoint a new medical director was accepted by the board (motion by Susan Huhn, seconded by Joe Wiley; carried 3-0). A separate quote from Ryan Fire Protection for a fire pump controller at the Justice Center was tabled on a motion by Susan Huhn and second by Joe Wiley; that motion also carried, 3-0.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn carried. Present at the meeting were Commissioners Steve Dellinger (presiding), Joe Wiley (vice president) and Susan Huhn; Henry County Auditor Debra Walker and County Attorney Joel Harvey were also listed as present in the minutes.
