The East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors took several routine but consequential votes at its June 25 regular meeting.
Finance and procurement: The board approved the Bills List dated June 21, 2024 totaling $248,861.64 on a motion by Supervisor Gary Volovnik, seconded by Supervisor Jim Nietupski; all present voted in favor. The board awarded the 2024–2025 fuel bids to Riggins, Inc., accepting the unleaded regular 87-octane market bid at 0.1790 and the ultra-low sulfur diesel bid at 0.3190 (market value) for the bid period August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025. The board also authorized accepting the cleaning proposal from BCS Facilities Group following staff recommendation. Each of these motions passed unanimously.
Ordinance and planning actions: The board held a public hearing and unanimously adopted Ordinance 304 to reclassify Three Mile Run Road and Old Bethlehem Road, a recommendation included in the 2020 Comprehensive Plan; a resident raised pedestrian safety concerns tied to narrow roadways during the hearing.
Reports and routine items: The board accepted the Pennridge Regional Police Department May 2024 activity report, the Planning Commission draft minutes, the Pennridge Wastewater Treatment Authority May 2024 minutes and flow reports, and the Township Public Works and Engineer reports. Manager Marianne Hart Morano noted a draft lease for Pennridge Greenjackets’ use of Willard H. Markey Centennial Park will be discussed at the July meeting.
Procedural notes: Several residents spoke during public-comment periods about construction-related street debris and a six-hour power outage at a development on High Point Circle, as well as speeding concerns on Stone Edge Road. The meeting adjourned into executive session at 8:31 PM.
