Board signs off on contracts, IU East pathway, meal prices and summer marching band pay

Contracts: Staff explained a zero-dollar contract to use the Nimble job-posting platform to advertise openings and connect applicants; the platform links to other application systems and includes outreach features for hiring teams. The board approved the Nimble contract as presented. Staff also described a new arrangement with Indiana University East (IU East) allowing students to participate in an education pathway program that yields college credit while remaining in-district; students would be paired with teachers for experiential days and take college classes through IU East. Board members described the pathway as cost-effective compared with sending students to an external career center.
Operations and student programs: The board approved the student-transfer report (16 transfers approved, none new to the district), several field-trip requests including an FFA overnight trip with eight students, and the personnel report. The board also approved the 2026–27 meal prices: elementary paid lunch $3.40, high-school paid lunch $3.50, breakfast $3.90 and adult lunch $4.65.
Extras: The agenda included an added item — a summer marching-band supplemental contract developed in partnership with neighboring districts — and the board approved compensation aligned with existing extracurricular stipend practices to support the program.
