Residents press board on Dops Ferry Road repaving as supervisor cites DOT funding constraints

Sydney Collins described rough pavement and asked whether repaving was planned. Supervisor Paul Feiner responded that the section in question is owned by the state and that Con Edison work in parts of the corridor will include repaving and new sidewalks where Con Edison performs its project. Feiner said he had written to state officials and shared an email from Lance McMillan, regional director for the New York State Department of Transportation, reporting that the Knollwood Road project was let in September 2024 and that repaving for Route 100B (Dops Ferry Road) "does not currently appear on our program" but that DOT was "working on a design in anticipation of future funding."
Feiner said the DOT had not yet funded the repaving and that even after funding is secured implementation can take more than a year. The board urged continued coordination with state representatives and encouraged residents to contact state legislators to press for funding.
The exchange clarifies jurisdictional responsibility: the town does not control DOT-owned roads, and portions of the corridor are tied to utility (Con Edison) work that may change the timing of surface repairs.
