Foxborough board closes town‑meeting warrant, posts FY27 budget and okays parade, rides and multiple short‑term licenses

The Foxborough Select Board on Feb. 3 took several routine and administrative actions: it voted to close the annual town meeting warrant effective Feb. 15, the town manager reported the FY27 budget books are posted and will be presented to the board on Feb. 17, and board members approved a series of event permits and one‑day alcohol licenses.

The board approved use-of-public-way permits including the Foxborough youth baseball and softball opening-day parade on April 11, 2026; the 36th annual Broadman ride for kids on May 16; and related event requests. The board also approved one-day beer-and-wine licenses for end-of-race celebrations (Rodman Ride) and multiple one-day licenses and change-of-hours applications for operators doing business as Wormtown Brewery and others. Several motions recorded a single verbal opposition in the roll call; the minutes do not identify which member objected.

Why it matters: These approvals set the schedule for community events this spring and establish permit conditions that the town enforces for public safety and traffic control.

On capital planning, the Capital Improvement Planning committee approved funding for a $40,000 UTV to replace an unrepairable vehicle required for Gillette operations; the CIP scheduled its annual meeting for March 7. The manager also reminded residents to sign up for Fox Alerts and identified upcoming short-term road closures for state construction on Route 140 (lane closures expected Feb. 4–6, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.).

The board approved meeting minutes from Jan. 16 and Jan. 20, 2026 and then adjourned for the evening.
