District outlines facilities work, ticketing system and plan to pursue Department of Defense energy grant

At the Oct. 20 meeting Treasurer Paul DeMarco updated the board on facilities work and preliminary steps for an energy grant application to the U.S. Department of Defense.
DeMarco said the facilities department has shifted from summer projects to supporting staff needs and that Mr. Gerber created a ticketing function in the district’s existing SCview platform to allow staff to log maintenance requests. DeMarco described the implementation as having gone "better than expected." He outlined a rough timeline for the district’s Department of Defense energy grant application, saying the first step is to obtain engineered drawings by an architect and that those drawings should be completed within about three months. The board indicated it was in favor of moving forward with the plan.
Board member Helmstetter asked about a planned utility vehicle purchase that has been delayed due to shifting budget allocations and suggested purchasing a used vehicle as an alternative. Helmstetter and Bemis also inquired about progress toward establishing an aftercare program and whether it could be in place for the next school year; the update did not specify a firm timeline for that program.
