Mayor thanks volunteers after veteran flags replaced, urges 250 flags across Greenfield

Borreson said VFW Post 4736, Cub Scout Troop 190, The Concerned Veterans, McClain Cadet Corps and other veterans and volunteers worked through poor weather to replace flags. He said the VFW purchased new flags that were hung throughout town in coordination with village crews and urged residents interested in a yard flag to contact the Mayor's Office or the VFW. "I would like to see at least 250 American flags flying in Greenfield this year," he said. Borreson also reminded the council that the Memorial Day parade is next week, the Music Festival is two weeks away, and that mowing and cleanup of eyesore properties will begin that week.
The remarks were delivered as part of the Mayor's report; no formal council action was recorded on the items aside from receiving the committee and officials' reports.
