Premier Lakes reports good pond conditions; board discusses new well estimate and irrigation constraints

Alex Kurth of Premier Lakes told the board there is very little algae or submerged vegetation and praised crews for preparing sites ahead of the rainy season. He said minimal invasive species were observed and that littoral plantings are scheduled to be installed in about two weeks. Kurth confirmed a sound-box behind a house in the Masters neighborhood was repaired and said he has not yet received feedback from district staff or residents on that repair.
Operations Manager Shane Willis asked Kurth to check the sound level at Lake E1-C and provide an update at the next meeting. Kurth also said crews would inspect a few noisy aerators and provide recommendations.
Separately, staff discussed McCullers Construction Services & Consulting, LLC Estimate #8 to install a new well. The revised quote provided to the board was $277,550. Discussion referenced South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) water restrictions, Lee County considerations, landscape irrigation needs and the goal of reducing long-term water usage. The board did not take action on the well estimate; the item will be reconsidered at a future meeting.
