Darlene Axtell’s application to operate yoga classes and massage therapy from her residence at 1130 Arapahoe was approved by the Thermopolis Town Council during a public hearing on Feb. 3.
Codes Administrative Assistant Jim Jeunehomme reviewed the application before Mayor Adam Estenson opened the hearing at 7:08 p.m. The mayor called for public comment three times; no one spoke and the hearing closed at 7:09 p.m. Council member John Dorman Sr. moved to approve the home-occupation permit; Tony Larson seconded and the motion carried.
Council members noted the applicant expects class sizes of six to 10 people; meeting minutes do not record any conditions or special restrictions attached to the approval. The permit allows locally regulated home-based business activities, subject to any applicable town codes and permitting requirements.
