At its Feb. 11 meeting the Village of Northfield council adopted a slate of emergency and routine resolutions and handled related procedural business.
Council confirmed the mayor's emergency appointment of Kara Dolansky to Director of Finance, Human Resource Specialist, and Clerk of Council by adopting Resolution No. 2026-01 after suspending the three-reading rule. The appointment followed an earlier motion to appoint Dolansky as the Village's RITA Council of Governments delegate with Mayor Jenn Domzalski as alternate; that motion passed by roll call.
Council also approved Resolution No. 2026-02 renewing the Village's agreement with Summit County and the Legal Defenders Office of Summit County, Ohio, Inc. for indigent representation in Stow Municipal Court, and Resolution No. 2026-04 to renew the Village's managed IT services agreement with Bay Pointe Technology, LTD. Both resolutions were read by Law Director Brad Bryan, and each suspension of the three-reading rule and adoption passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
Resolution No. 2026-05, setting forth the appropriations for fiscal year 2026, received its first reading and will advance to a second reading at the next council meeting.
Other procedural actions included scheduling a budget work session for Feb. 18 at the Fire Station to review police and fire budgets beginning at 6:00 p.m.; the work session was approved by motion and roll call vote.
Roll-call voting on the minutes and motions was recorded in the meeting minutes; the January 14 minutes were approved (Mr. Hipps recorded an abstention), and subsequent motions on appointments and resolutions passed with affirmative votes from all present councilmembers where recorded.
