The Village of Northfield council on Jan. 14 appointed Councilperson Gary Vojtush as president pro-tem for 2026 and completed several routine appointments and approvals.
At the start of the meeting, Law Director Brad Bryan administered oaths to re-elected ward councilpersons. Council then approved the Dec. 18, 2025 minutes on a motion by Renell Noack seconded by Kevin Lewis; the roll call vote passed with one abstention (Nick Magistrelli).
For the president pro-tem role, Noack moved to appoint Gary Vojtush, seconded by Kevin Lewis. Councilmember Zach Hebebrand offered an alternate nomination of Kevin Lewis, but Hebebrand’s motion received no second. The roll call vote on the Vojtush nomination was recorded as all yes and Vojtush was appointed President Pro-Tem for 2026.
Council also approved Kevin Lewis’s motion (seconded by Nick Magistrelli) to appoint Mr. Hipps as the council’s Planning Commission representative for 2026, and approved a motion by Gary Vojtush (seconded by Kevin Lewis) appointing Renell Noack as the Village Cemetery Board representative for 2026. All appointments were approved by roll call votes as recorded in the minutes.
These items were presented as routine business in the minutes; no additional debate or conditions were recorded.
