Levittown honors student artists, athletes and an Eagle Scout at year-end meeting

The Levittown Board of Education used part of its June 10 meeting to celebrate student accomplishments in the arts, athletics and service.
At the superintendent's art showcase, framed student artwork from each school was called out; selected pieces will appear in the district calendar. Students and families were invited to come forward to receive framed work and take photos.
Athletic director John Kasha led recognition of spring athletes, announcing numerous all-county selections across schools and noting that MacArthur's girls flag football team won an undefeated Long Island county championship. "MacArthur flag football, undefeated — Long Island champions," Kasha told the meeting, and board members applauded the teams and coaches.
The board also recognized Brian Lashinsky for earning the rank of Eagle Scout; the district noted his leadership in designing and building an outdoor prayer booth for St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Levittown and ongoing volunteer contributions to district activities and set design.
Board members and central office leaders encouraged families to enjoy year-end ceremonies, listed upcoming graduations and events, and thanked teachers and coaches for supporting student achievement.
