The Castleberry ISD Board of Education approved key personnel items and received an update on construction of the district’s new high school.
On an action item, the board approved the appointment of Scott Renan as principal of Castleberry High School (motion, second; vote recorded as 7–0). The board introduced Mr. Renan to the community; he described his prior experience in Fort Worth ISD and expressed enthusiasm for serving the district.
Separately, trustees approved the 2026–27 professional new‑hire contracts subject to assignment; that motion also passed 7–0. New hires in the audience were congratulated and directed to collect contracts from the HR office.
Facilities director Cameron Hollow provided a construction progress report for the new high school: the transformer and primary power lines are complete, water‑line preconstruction is underway, and multiple interior areas are near completion. Mr. Hollow said portions of the building (Area B and gym connectors) are roughly 90% complete and will be ready for partial occupancy this school year, with additional spaces scheduled for phased opening in December. He highlighted MEP, ceiling grid, flooring and abatement work still in progress and confirmed continued emphasis on safety and schedule adherence.
Votes recorded at the meeting included approval of the consent agenda and Budget Amendment 4 (May 31, 2026), each carried 7–0. Staff told trustees that budget amendment items reflected repurposing of savings and grant funds to cover project and athletics needs, and that no personnel reductions resulted from the reallocations.
