Board recognizes Udica Community Schools for music education and honors assistant prosecuting attorney Dale Vanderdy

The Macomb County Board of Commissioners on June 11 presented a proclamation congratulating Udica Community Schools after the district was named a 2026 'Best Community for Music Education' by the NAMM Foundation. Commissioner Sylvia Gro read the proclamation, noting district student participation and community involvement as factors in the recognition.
Udica band director Brett Ba thanked the board for the recognition on behalf of the district. Two senior drum majors, Matteline Gabbridge and Nathan Seager, introduced themselves and expressed appreciation.
The board also recognized Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Dale Vanderdy with the Kimberly M. Cahill Civility Award. Vanderdy accepted and referenced a family legacy in the law: "It's an honor...to continue his legacy as well," he said, and thanked the county and the bar association.
These items were adopted by unanimous voice vote and included presentation of a plaque to school representatives.
