Board approves OCEA contract, curriculum adoption, virtual‑school policy and routine renewals

The Oregon City School District board approved multiple action items on June 8, including a new collective bargaining agreement with its licensed employees, a K–12 social sciences curriculum, policy changes for virtual public charter enrollment, and several administrative and operational contracts.

Collective bargaining: The board voted to approve the OCSD–OCEA 2025–28 collective bargaining agreement. A board member thanked the bargaining teams for long mediation sessions; the motion to approve was moved and seconded during the meeting and carried by roll call.

Curriculum adoption: The board approved resolution 2526410 adopting a K–12 social sciences curriculum. Staff said purchasing and implementation timing depends on budget lines and that materials ordering will be prioritized within available funds.

Policy LBEA (virtual public charter school enrollment): The board adopted policy LBEA to enable the district to limit enrollment transfers to district online programs at grades 9–12, while encouraging families to consider the district’s in‑person offerings and a local online program (OXLA) intended primarily for students who have already left.

Other approvals: The board approved the 2026–28 facility use fee schedule; renewals for administrative directors and assistant superintendent agreements (with a 3% COLA and related insurance adjustments); and ratified an amendment to the five‑year Sodexo food service contract (year 4), which includes a modest vendor price increase (2.88% this year under a 3.8% CPI cap). Staff said federal and state reimbursement structures support the free‑meal program and that adult/paid meal prices will be adjusted to maintain program compliance.

Each item passed by roll call during the meeting; the clerk read director names and recorded aye votes for the motions.
