The Ambridge Area School District board approved a slate of personnel recommendations during its June 10 work session, voting by roll call to adopt items presented by the administration.
Mr. Covesic, who presented the personnel list, said the recommendations included tentative administrator salary adjustments for 2026–27 (to be finalized after 2025–26 evaluations), multiple retirements and resignations, and new appointments. The board approved the appointment of Joanne Hoover as homeless liaison coordinator with a $3,500 stipend for the 2026–27 school year. The agenda also listed multiple retirements and resignations including Ken Grafton (Ambridge Area Middle School social studies), Terry Delasio (4-hour cook, State Street Elementary), Tina Cordell (site leader, State Street Elementary), Cory Kavanagh (BCIT teacher), Samantha Banks (high school guidance counselor) and the previously added resignation of Gianna Sinatra (middle school science teacher), all effective in June 2026 as noted in the presentation.
The board approved technology integrator stipends of $1,500 for designated staff in each building and a slate of coaching appointments for 2026–27, including Emanuel Apoli as head cross country coach at a stipend shown as $4,600 and Daniela Roiera listed as a volunteer football coach. The administration also recommended hiring Deborah Van Patton as a high‑school paraprofessional effective Aug. 20, 2026, contingent on receipt of required clearances, drug screening, TB testing and required employment verifications.
A motion to approve personnel items 1–12 was made and seconded and carried on a roll-call vote. During the roll call, one board member stated she would abstain on item nine (the technology integrators stipends) as transcribed; the motion nonetheless carried. The approvals were presented as contingent upon required background clearances and certifications being completed.
What happens next: the approved personnel actions will be reflected on the regular June 17 agenda and processed pending the required pre‑employment checks and final salary determinations where noted.
