Oak Park MAC votes to consolidate Nov. 4 election and require candidates to pay ballot statements

The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council voted 3-0 May 27 to consolidate Oak Park’s election for three MAC members with other elections on Nov. 4, 2014, to notify the Ventura County Clerk of the elective offices, and to require candidates to pay for their ballot statements.
Motions were made by Mike McReynolds and seconded by Robert von Schneidau. The MAC approved consolidation and the procedural notice to the county clerk on separate votes, both recorded 3-0. The council also approved a motion that candidates be responsible for paying for their own ballot statements. Several other election-service items were continued to the next meeting for further review.
