Supervisor Linda Parks reports $1.7M state grant for Oak Park Green Streets, library solar ribbon cutting set for June 7

Parks said the Watershed Protection District’s $1.7 million “Oak Park Green Streets Urban Retrofit” proposal, previously presented to the MAC, received State funding. She also said the Oak Park High School Solar Group installed new solar panels on the Oak Park Library and that a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 7. Parks noted upcoming presentations to the MAC from the County Health Department and from a county energy-efficiency program.
Context and community impact: the Green Streets retrofit is intended to address stormwater and neighborhood infrastructure; State funding moves the project from proposal toward implementation. Parks also reported on a recent LAFCo vote that enables partial funding of the Kanan Shuttle by CSA #4 and described a community recycling event at Oak Park High School that collected 9.24 tons of material from 343 vehicles.
