Board hears testing and accountability updates, district to add PSAT for 9th graders

Danielle (presenter) updated the board on testing plans for 2026–27 and explained how the state’s new accountability model will change local testing and grading.
Danielle said the district will add an ILEARN Government senior course with two testing windows and that PSAT testing will be extended to 9th graders — a change prompted by the revised accountability framework. She described which assessments are final results versus predicted checkpoint-based projections and gave specific pass rates: "the passing rate for the third grade cohort... was 84.6%," and noted fourth-grade science at 33%, sixth-grade science at 38% and high-school biology at 32% where data were available.
She explained use of interim growth measures (I-Ready) and screening (Aadian) for early grades, and outlined new state-required structures for mathematics: a K–2 screener (district already uses I-Ready), a required 60-minute daily elementary math block and 20-minute tiered interventions for K–5, plus Win periods in middle school to support students who test one or more grade levels behind.
The board also heard that preschool met PTQ Level 3 and passed state licensing visits without deficiencies, and that staff will continue professional development over the summer, including math-focused PD and RTI/Win implementation training.
The administration characterized current ELA and math checkpoint figures as predictions and said final statewide scores are pending; social studies results were not yet available at the time of the report.
