The board voted to separate employment for three teaching assistants (Lillian White, Courtney Taylor and Hannah Smoot). Item one (the separation referenced first) carried after roll call; items two and three were then considered together and approved, according to the board’s roll-call and voice votes during the meeting. Board members Ethan (Committee member) and Eva (Committee member) were recorded participating in the votes; the meeting record shows motions and seconds and the chair declared the items carried.
The board also approved a service agreement with Harmon Consulting to assist in the preparation of the corporation’s major fund budgets, adopted updated policies on wireless-device prohibitions and staff technology acceptable use, and approved an authorization policy for audio, video and digital recording. The meeting packet included a first reading of middle school handbook changes and approval of high school handbook revisions for 2026–27.
Other actions taken included approval of a groundskeeper job description, authorization for an FFA fundraiser ("Kitty Pedal Tractor Pull" at the Catfish Festival on July 3), and employee bonding for the corporation treasurer, deputy treasurer, cafeteria treasurer and extracurricular treasurers. A facility-use request from Reva Troutman’s church youth group to work in the school garden was tabled pending proof of liability insurance.
The board approved biannual transfers from the education fund to the operations fund and a related cafeteria transfer by voice vote and also moved to pay claims and accept monthly accounting reports.
The meeting minutes show the board conducted these routine governance matters and budgetary approvals as part of its regular business; no legislative or externally binding ordinances were introduced.
