Village maintenance supervisor Casey Ash updated the council on January work at the water plant. Ash said staff completed paperwork related to the Source Water Protection Plan, replaced two meters, performed chemical-pump rebuilds, diagnosed and repaired the plant generator and ran new PEX water lines on 100 N. Main. An EPA sanitary inspection occurred the same day and Ash said the village is awaiting the official outcome.
Ash also reported that the village's supply of Kamstrup meters is nearly exhausted and cited a per-unit cost of approximately $500; Mayor Henderson instructed him to order 20 new meters. Separately, Councilman Bob Pangborn said an EPA grant might help finance a replacement generator at the water plant, estimated at about $130,000, and that the village will pursue grant opportunities.
The council paired the engineering contract approval with a small supplemental appropriation of $1,000 to cover repairs at 100 N. Main and approved an IT-support contract for municipal systems. The Verdantas addendum signals the next step toward tower rehabilitation; timelines for contracting and construction were not specified in the meeting record.
