Bradford board: rooftop solar installed, final connection and fieldhouse plans pending

The superintendent told the Bradford Exempted Village Board on Monday that rooftop solar panels have been installed on the school and that wiring to an internal junction box is complete, but the final electrical union and permission to operate remain pending.
"They did the inspection and everything looks great so far," the superintendent said, noting a previously scheduled union to the building’s electrical system was rescheduled and no new date had been confirmed. He said one final inspection remains before the system can be placed into service and that the previously expected permission-to-operate date (the 12th of the month) may be pushed back a few days.
The superintendent also outlined related facilities work: a greenhouse remains incomplete awaiting contractor time and a concession stand roof was replaced after structural repairs; he credited maintenance staff, specifically Skip, for the repair work. Roof power-washing and repainting of metal roofs are in progress.
He proposed holding a ribbon-cutting during the board meeting on the 12th at 5:00 p.m., with the option to livestream rooftop activity and show the work in the auditorium to community and press.
On capital projects, the superintendent said final fieldhouse plans will be offered for adoption at the July meeting and that a motion will follow to go out for bids. He cautioned the original move-in timetable (winter) has shifted and that construction and occupancy are likely to occur later than originally forecast.
No formal vote was recorded on the solar system at the meeting; the superintendent said the district is working with an outside firm (Walker Blue) to prepare the tax-credit report needed to claim direct-pay credits related to the solar installation.
