At the Oct. 7 meeting the New Lebanon Village Council received details about Ordinance 2025‑08, a supplemental appropriation slated for a third and final reading and vote on Oct. 21.
A staff member told council the ordinance includes a $125,000 adjustment related to a renovation at Don Ross Park: "The school has agreed to pay for it," the staff member said, and the village will appropriate the full project cost and then be reimbursed by the school for the fifth tennis court. The staff member said the school’s reimbursement will cover the $55,000 line item for that court.
The staff member also described a $30,000 increase in the water fund to cover work identified during a recent well rehabilitation (well six) and a $40,000 transfer from personnel services (wages and benefits) to other police‑department expenditures to cover recent cruiser repairs and equipment replacement. The staff member said the net effect on total appropriations is zero because of the reimbursement arrangement and internal transfers.
Council discussed appraisal and documentation questions, and the mayor directed staff to work with the village attorney and provide written materials for the Oct. 21 meeting. The ordinance remains at first/second-reading status for some line items; the council set Oct. 21 for the third reading and public hearing.
